New Moon In Taurus

As I write this, green leaves beckon for my attention; thick trunks reach between dark root soil and the blue sky where branches blow; I see dancing grass, feel cold streams warming, and notice shades of sun and shadow across the land. Wherever you are, feel now. Notice the sensations of your body and sensations of Earth. 

Taurus, symbolized by the bull and ruled by Venus, offers an invitation to ground and deepen connections with the physical realm through sensuality. Notice smells, tastes, sight, touch, and weaving song. To embody Taurus is to be Mama Gaia, experience pure being, and drop into stillness within the Body Earth.

At this New Moon, a new beginning, just two days before the Sun moves into Gemini, may we begin this cycle from our roots, centered, and trusting gravity’s embrace. 

These are powerful days. The sky reflects energies we feel and sing. Sun and Moon meet with Uranus, Mercury, Jupiter, and the Moon’s North Node– ALL in Taurus. Gravity feels strong. Earth calls in song, weaving voices sung from the hearts of who we are and where we’re going; she sings destinies of our planet and times. Hear it. Speak it. Be it. Trusting intuition and instinct, we’re called to deepen our knowledge of peace, harmony, and beauty as we delight in pleasures of the natural world. Your senses–this moment right now– are portals to the unfolding.

A grand cross in the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) signals this as a time to choose stamina over rigidity, to harness courage and strength in service of transformation, and to own our wisdom and the depths of our experiences. Opposing energies between Pluto in Aquarius and Mars (moving into Leo just 24 hours after the New Moon!) call on our passions and creative force to alchemize magic and transform the future. We are interconnected warriors, co-creating in community, friendship, and visionary action. The South Node in Scorpio further emphasizes themes of power, bare life, and encounters with naked intensity.

We have support to call in, humbly and with gratitude, guidance in the form of dreams, breath, ritual, community, and conscious nourishment. We have the capacity for empowered, clear, compassionate communication. And we are held within the simple experience of existence, beauty, Earth, and song. 

May the fires you’ve walked through, in this life and the deep ancestral past, strengthen how you now choose to live and embrace the embodied wealth of earth’s abundant grace.
