Aries Equinox and New Moon in Aries

This Astrological New Year (Spring Equinox, March 20th) and New Moon in Aries (March 21st) come flame forward in a whirlwind of change and transformation! Besides the powerful stellium of Sun, Moon, Mercury, Chiron, and Jupiter in the fire sign of Aries (rules by warrior god Mars), we also have Pluto entering Aquarius on March 23rd. This outer planet will retrograde back and forth between Aquarius and Capricorn until the fall of 2024, when it will stay in Aquarius (sign of futures, utopias, and community) for the next 19 years. As we move into the age of Aquarius, Pluto’s traverse marks a POWERFUL opportunity for root level transformation of our civilizations’ most wild visions and collective inventions. But Pluto isn’t the only shift: March is full of planets changing signs at a rapid pace as we continue in this powerful wave of forward momentum that began in January when all planets went direct. We’re still traveling in the fast lane until April 21st (when Mercury will retrograde on the first full day of Taurus, just one day after a New Moon Solar Eclipse at the final degree of Aries), and now is a real crescendo of shifting celestial landscapes! To break it down:

Saturn moved into Pisces on March 7th (the full moon!), inviting structure and boundaries into the watery unknowns of this spiritual sign. Saturn will be there for the next 2 ½ years, bringing opportunity to define where our truths and dreams begin and end, and encouraging the step-by-step processes of spiritual discernment. 

Venus went into sensual Taurus on March 16th. Ruler of this sign, she encourages a dance of grounded earth appreciation through the senses, stillness, music, beauty, and solid connection with the physical realm. (Moving into Gemini April 11th)

Mercury into Aries on March 19th: emphasizing the energy around the Sun and Moon conjunct at the new Moon on the 21st, Mercury in Aries suggests quick fire communication. Be advised to speak with courage, truth, and integrity. There’s a lot of energy around new ideas and plans right now.

There is so much energy and fire around starting projects and manifesting birth right now. It’s a great time to move your body, express dynamic energy physically and intellectually, and to make sure you have outlets for all that fire we’re energetically buzzing with. 

Pluto into Aquarius on the 23rd (really big deal! see above) 

Mars moves into Cancer on March 25th (until May 20th) after an unusual 7 months in Gemini due to retrograde. Building on the lessons in communication we’ve learned over the last 7 months, Mars in Cancer brings intensity to our most inward emotions, cares, and sensitivities. A perfect trine between Mars and Saturn on March 30th brings support in our abilities to call in protection around our tender hearts and dreams. With all this fire and forward energy, may we tend our inner children and vulnerabilities with clear and kind holding, embracing boundaries where they serve our capacities for courage.

So yes, Wild Warrior Wizards and Priestesses of Earth, we are surely at a portal into another realm, with all the uncertainty and intensity that such thresholds bring. We may feel dizzy. We may feel faint of heart. We may need to call on the Earth beneath our feet for support and the capacity to ground. It is a new age. Call on courage now. Use discernment to manifest dreams that heal, dreams that empower us to be our truest selves in the future world we vision.
